Linux into the new patch: wired connection to Logitech mice such as G903, high-resolution scrolling will be automatically disabled

CTOnews.com, February 9, Linux mainline will soon be incorporated into a new patch, and Linux will automatically disable high-resolution scrolling (High Resolution Scrolling) after Logitech's mouse is connected to the device through USB. Logitech mouse connection via Bluetooth / wireless is not affected by this problem.

The patch indicates that enabling high-resolution scrolling may prevent the mouse from using the current kernel driver in the case of a wired Logitech mouse.

After connecting some Logitech mice such as G903 and G403, the HID event is generated on a different interface from HID++.

If we enable high resolution through the HID++ interface, the HID interface cannot handle events like regular scrolling events, making the mouse unusable.

Before we implement the scrolling event through HID++, we currently disable high-resolution scrolling on these devices.

This problem has existed in Linux's mainline since last September. This patch is marked for backward migration to the most recent stable kernel series. This patch is currently in the for-next branch of HID.
