CTOnews.com, February 9 (Xinhua)-- Benedict Cumberbatch will star alongside Gabe Hoffman and McKinley Belcher III in a six-episode thriller created by Abby Morgan, according to Netflix.

According to reports, "Eric" is a new emotional thriller written by Abby Morgan. Set in New York in the 1980s, the show tells the story of a father desperately looking for his son-his nine-year-old son who disappeared on his way to school one morning. Vincent is one of the famous puppet artists in New York and created the popular children's TV show Good Day Sunshine. As he struggled to cope with the loss of his son Edgar, he became more and more painful and capricious. He was full of self-loathing and guilt about Edgar's disappearance, and his son's blue monster puppet Eric became his spiritual sustenance. He firmly believes that if Eric can be seen on TV, Edgar will go home. Vincent's destructive behavior alienated him from his family, colleagues and detectives who tried to help him, and Eric became his only ally in his search for his son.
