Users do not like spherical and triangular designs, Philips discontinued production of Hue Lightguide two intelligent lamps and lanterns
CTOnews.com February 11 news, Signify said that due to "aesthetic inconsistency", will stop production of the recent launch of two Lightguide smart home lights. The company said in an official statement that it had stopped production of these lamps in order to "remain committed to providing a quality experience for our users."
Signify launched the Philips Hue Lightguide line in September last year, offering three different shapes: large spheres, oval shapes and triangles, which it called "eye-catching modern design" at the time.
"Lightguide bulbs can be the icing on the cake, complement any modern home decoration, and seamlessly integrate any Philips Hue lighting scene," Signify said at the time.
But consumers do not like large spherical and triangular light bulbs. Kelly Hrank, head of public relations at Signify, then provided a statement to The Verge, which CTOnews.com translated as follows:
After discussing with our suppliers, we found that consumers do not approve of the aesthetic design of Philips Hue Lightguide bulbs, and there is no feasible solution at present.
As we have been committed to providing users with a quality experience, Philips Hue decided to stop producing Lightguide triangular and spherical light bulbs.
