CTOnews.com February 12, last November, Robert Iger (Robert Iger) returned to the Walt Disney Company as CEO. Iger retired from Disney at the end of 2021 after serving as chief executive for 15 years (2005-2020).

Iger's plan to reshape the Walt Disney Company has become the focus of more attention, the Wall Street Journal reported, as the company outlined plans to restructure its entertainment business and hinted that it might consider selling streaming platform Hulu.

According to the report, Iger has begun to develop a vision, including cutting costs, streamlining investments in integrated entertainment and sports, and handing more control to creative leaders.

Under Disney's new structure, almost all key businesses will be managed by top entertainment executives, from content distribution to programme budgets and advertising sales. It also means that these executives will decide how to distribute these products, whether through streaming platforms or traditional channels, as well as how to promote and profit.

In addition, Disney announced this week that it would cut 7000 jobs worldwide, or about 3% of its global workforce, as part of the company's $5.5 billion (currently about 37.455 billion yuan) cost-cutting plan.
