CTOnews.com, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) Samsung partnered with SkyShowtime to introduce another content provider to its TV app store in Europe, which aims to reach 9000 million households in 20 European markets. The SkyShowtime app is now available in a few markets in Europe and will be launched in more markets later this month.

SkyShowtime is an app that can be downloaded through the Samsung TV App Store. In other words, it is not part of TVPlus, a free streaming service supported by Samsung ads. SkyShowtime follows a subscription model, with monthly fees ranging from $5 (currently about 34 yuan) to $6 (currently about 41 yuan), depending on the market.

Subscribing to SkyShowtime, Samsung TV users in Europe can watch TV series and movies from studios such as Showtime, Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, Paramount +, Nick Children's Channel, DreamWorks Animation, Peackock and SkyStudios.

As of February 14, the SkyShowtime streaming platform is available on Samsung smart TVs in the following European countries:

"Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden."

In addition, Samsung will launch the SkyShowtime app on TV app stores in Andorra and Spain from February 28. The app is compatible with 2017 and later Samsung smart TVs, including Neo QLED, OLED and QLED TVs, as well as The Frame TVs and projectors such as The Freestyle and The Premiere.

Samsung announced 2023 televisions on CES 2023, including new QD-OLED models, 140in MicroLED and a new version of The Freestyle projector, which supports Samsung's game streaming service Gaming Hub.
