CTOnews.com, February 15, Hyundai Mobis announced today that it will join hands with American Broadcasting Group Sinclair to launch a pilot vehicle broadcast platform in the North American market and cooperate with the US media industry to develop a vehicle communication system that complies with ATSC3.0 standards.
Modern Mobis said that ATSC3.0 is a new generation of digital television standard developed by the United States. CAST.ERA is an ATSC3.0 solutions company, a joint venture between Sinclair and SK Telecom. On January 20, Hyundai Mobis demonstrated the ATSC3.0 car broadcast system in Washington and Baltimore.
According to Hyundai Mobis, Sinclair and CAST.ERA are responsible for the broadcast format and content output, while Mobis provides the world's first automatically configured ATSC3.0 broadcast transceiver system that can watch high-definition pictures at high speed. The antenna and low noise amplifier (LNA) are mounted on the front windshield of the car, and the ATSC 3.0 broadcast module is installed in the car to watch high-definition video through the rear seat display.
