The MATLAB performance of the native Apple Silicon platform is still under development, and this public beta does not represent the performance of the production version of MATLAB on the Apple Silicon platform.

The documentation contained in the public beta version of the native Apple Silicon platform is incomplete.

Add-on Explorer is not available. Add-ons can still be installed manually.

The support pack is not available.

MATLAB Engine API for Python is not available.

The public beta version requires a Java runtime environment (JRE). Users must install JRE on Mac to run the public beta.

To use the public beta version of MATLAB R2022b's native Apple Silicon platform, users must install Java 8 JRE on Mac. The JRE must run natively on Apple Silicon.

Amazon offers the right Java 8 JRE as part of Amazon Corretto 8: click here to download Amazon Corretto 8. When downloading Amazon Corretto 8, select the .pkg installer for platform "macOS aarch64".

CTOnews.com learned that if users have installed Azul Zulu OpenJDK 8 Magi Azul Zulu OpenJDK 8, it is also suitable for the public beta version of the R2022b platform.
