Data from the State Post Bureau show that during the Spring Festival travel season this year, the network collected a total of 10.367 billion pieces of express mail, with an average daily business volume of 259 million, an increase of 6.14 percent over the same period in 2022 and 159 percent over the same period in 2019. In addition, according to the operation data of the postal industry in January 2023, the volume of mailing and delivery business in the postal industry completed 9.43 billion pieces in January, down 16.8% from the same period last year. Among them, the express delivery business volume completed 7.23 billion pieces, down 17.6% from the same period last year; the postal group mailing business volume completed 2.2 billion pieces, down 14.1% from the same period last year.

In terms of revenue, in January, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal savings Bank) reached 112.68 billion yuan, down 11.4% from the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business reached 76.75 billion yuan, down 16.3% from the same period last year, while the revenue from the postal group's mailing business reached 3.03 billion yuan, down 24.7% from the same period last year.
