Blumhouse, the producer of "Megan" and "Escape from desperate Town", announces his foray into the field of horror games.

CTOnews.com, Feb. 22 (Xinhua)-- Blumhouse, which is famous for making films such as Megan and escaping from desperate Town, is now entering the gaming industry.

Blumhouse has set up a new production and publishing division to create original horror games for PC, consoles and mobile devices in the future.

Blumhouse President Abhijay Prakash said in an interview with Bloomberg:

We are in the scary content industry, making movies and television, but there is a huge and growing market in media and entertainment, and that is games.

It is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, and we are now in a good position to try in this direction.

Like making movies, Blumhouse Games will initially keep its budget low, initially focusing on works that cost less than $10 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 68.8 million yuan), and is more focused on finding plans in development and providing funding, creative advice and brand influence to its studios than adapting its own film and television content.

Zach Wood, a producer of games such as Redsia Island and Predator, will lead the creative work of Blumhouse's games division, while Don Sechler, a former PlayStation executive who works closely with independent studios, will be in charge of operations and finance.

The sci-fi thriller Megan is confirmed to be released in mainland theaters on March 17. In the plot, Megan is an AI doll, she developed self-awareness in the process of getting along with the little girl Katie. After Katie was injured in an accident, Megan turned into a "killing machine" to protect Katie.
