In the Ningde era of SNE:2022, the installed capacity of power battery ranks first in the world, and the leading edge is further expanded.

CTOnews.com March 2 news, according to data released by South Korean market research firm SNE Research 2, Ningde Times ranked first in the global electric vehicle battery and energy storage system (ESS) market in 2022, and further widened the gap with the second South Korean LG new energy.

Data show that the total installed capacity of electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems reached 812gigawatt hours (GWh) last year, an increase of 86 per cent over the same period last year. Among them, the installed capacity of electric vehicle batteries was 690 gigawatt hours, an increase of 76% over the same period last year, and the installed capacity of energy storage system was 122 gigawatt hours, an increase of 177% over the same period last year.

SNE pointed out that Chinese manufacturers have done well in both batteries and energy storage systems, with overall performance significantly higher than the same period last year. The year-on-year growth rates of Ningde era and BYD were 145 per cent and 165 per cent respectively, compared with 19 per cent for LG New Energy and 4 per cent for Panasonic. CTOnews.com noted that the Ningde era ranked first in terms of market share, rising from 30.3% in 2021 to 39.8% in 2022. At the same time, LG new energy fell from 19.5% to 12.4%, ranking second. BYD was not far behind with 12.1 per cent, followed by Panasonic (6 per cent), Samsung SDI (5.5 per cent) and SK on (5.4 per cent).
