Huawei new patent: can use lip movement to unlock equipment

CTOnews.com March 3 news, Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. applied for "equipment unlocking method and device" patent has been granted recently.

The abstract shows that the application provides a device unlocking method and device, which can use the biological attributes of lip movement characteristics for identity authentication, thereby unlocking the device, with flexibility, anti-forgetfulness, anti-plagiarism and modifiability.

The method includes: obtaining the current lip movement image of the user; obtaining the first lip movement feature according to the current lip movement image; judging whether the device is unlocked or not according to the matching degree of the first lip movement feature and the second lip movement feature. The second lip movement feature is a pre-stored lip movement feature for unlocking the device.

CTOnews.com note: lip movement unlocking, as the name implies, is the use of human lip movement features to unlock, and fingerprint, face recognition belongs to biometric unlocking. The approximate way of lip movement recognition is that a person reads a series of words or numbers to the device, whether to make a sound or not, and the camera will capture the lip movement features of the person (called "the first lip movement feature"). Compared with the pre-stored lip movement feature (called "second lip movement feature"), if it reaches a certain degree of match, it will be unlocked successfully.
