CTOnews.com March 4, Google began testing Chrome browsers based on the Blink rendering engine on iPhone and iPad devices in February this year. Foreign technology media 9to5Google took the lead in sharing screenshots of the new Chrome browser.

Since announcing the development of a Chrome browser based on the Blink engine in February last year, Google has been working with Igalia, an open source consulting firm and active Chromium contributor, to launch and run a simplified "content_shell" browser on iOS / iPadOS devices.

According to the screenshots shared by the developers, Google Search works fine and there are no obvious problems with page rendering. At the top is a simple sidebar that contains the address bar and traditional browser controls such as back, forward, and refresh.

Judging from these ongoing screenshots, Blink for the iOS project seems to have made significant progress, but it is clearly a prototype and does not mean to be used like a full web browser. CTOnews.com learned from the report that Google's next most important step is to invite more users to test the iOS version of Blink / Chromium browser to ensure that all aspects of the browser work properly.
