CTOnews.com, March 5 (Xinhua)-- Michael Abbott, Apple's top cloud executive, will leave in April, becoming the second senior deputy to leave the company's services chief Eddy Cue this year, Bloomberg reported.

As vice president of cloud engineering at Apple, Abbott is responsible for iCloud.com services, iCloud Mail and iCloud data encryption. He also runs Apple's platform, which supports iCloud, key communications services, Find My functions and emergency distress signals on iPhone.

The position of Abbott will be taken over by Jeff Robbin. The latter is considered one of Apple's most senior engineering executives and is famous for creating iTunes.

An Apple spokesman declined to comment.

In addition, Peter Stern, another deputy to Cue, left at the end of January and was considered a potential successor to Cue, responsible for many components of the company's services business, including subscription and business matters for Apple TV + and Apple News, as well as marketing for the entire service portfolio.

CTOnews.com noted that in addition to the departures of Abbott and Stern, Apple recently lost executives in charge of industrial design, online stores, information systems, procurement and parts of hardware and software engineering.
