Microsoft Win11 tests new personalized features, allowing AI to add depth of field to wallpaper

CTOnews.com, March 5, according to the latest revelations, Microsoft is testing an AI feature for Windows 11 that can add depth of field to the background.

According to a picture released by Windows whistleblower Albacore, Microsoft added a switch called "Depth effects" under the personalization-> background option of Windows 11.

According to the switch description, when the user turns on this option, Windows 11 will use AI to add a depth-of-field effect to the current background image (wallpaper), which highlights part of it and blurs the other part, which sounds a bit like the portrait mode when taking pictures on a mobile phone.

▲ is a picture with depth-of-field effect. It is not clear whether the feature requires specific hardware and whether it has special requirements for wallpaper. CTOnews.com will follow up on the report.

Twitter user PhantomOcean3 found a string with the same description in the Windows Insider version, as well as a string called Parallax Background (parallax background).
