Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com March 6, according to South Korean media The Elec reported that Apple partner BOE will provide OLED display for the fourth-generation iPhone SE to be released next year.
According to the report, due to production problems, BOE failed to meet this year's initial order for iPhone 15 series OLED panels (although the news is questionable), and Samsung and LG received most of the orders. Now BOE is trying to make up for this loss by focusing on the production of low-cost iPhone SE 4 OLED panels. Next year, the number of OLED panels in iPhone SE 4 is estimated to be around 20 million.
Instead of adopting new specifications, the fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to use OLED inventory originally prepared for iPhone 13 in 2021 or iPhone 14 in 2022. "for entry-level products, it makes sense for Apple to use component inventory for optimization," the report added.
CTOnews.com has previously reported that well-known Apple analyst Guo Mingyi said last month that Apple has resumed the development of the fourth-generation iPhone SE, which will be equipped with a 6.1in OLED display and a 5G chip designed by Apple. Guo Mingyi said the new iPhone SE will be similar to the standard iPhone 14, which has a 6.1in OLED display and a narrower frame, while the current iPhone SE has a 4.7in LCD display and a wide frame.
After Guo Mingyi's report, Ross Young, a well-known display analyst, also said that he had heard that iPhone SE 4 would use the OLED panel provided by BOE, and today's report confirmed this information again.
