Ford recalls 18 Fmur150 Lightning electric pickup trucks due to battery fire

After four weeks of shutdown, the company will resume production of the Fmuri 150 Lightning on March 13 and will be equipped with new battery packs.
Ford said the "root cause" of the problem was at the Georgia plant of its South Korean battery supplier SK On. Ford spokesman Emma Bergg said in a statement that the company had not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall.
"together with SK On, we have identified the root cause of the problem and have taken quality measures," Bergg said. "production plans will resume on Monday and use clean and tested battery packs."
Bergg confirmed that the affected vehicles were either in the hands of the dealer or had been delivered to the customer. The company has been in close contact with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is expected to issue a recall next week.
According to CTOnews.com, Ford abruptly stopped production of its flagship Fmur150 Lightning electric pickup truck on February 4 after one of its cars caught fire in a parking lot at its plant in Dearborn, Michigan, affecting two other trucks. SK On had previously called the problem "rare" and said it was looking for a solution.
