CTOnews.com, March 16 (Xinhua) Apple recently lost a trademark battle with Cyprus developer Apella Games. Apple believes that Apella Games is similar in vision, pronunciation and concept, and it is easy for customers to get confused.

The EU intellectual property Office (EUIPO) disagreed with Apple and rejected Apple's application for trademark infringement. Apple can continue to appeal in the next two months.

CTOnews.com learned from reports that Apella Games registered its name and LOGO in EUIPO on March 17, 2021 and was established in Cyprus a year ago.

Apple had previously submitted a 476-page argument that the Apella Games logo was similar and that the company's name and LOGO were reminiscent of Apple.

Yana Raevskaya, head of Prospectacy Ltd's legal department, thinks this is just a tactic for Apple. "Apple uses hundreds of incomplete pages of material to try to intimidate its rivals and prevent them from entering the market," he said.
