Guo Mingyi: iPhone 15 series mobile phones switch to new interface, Apple is optimistic about the demand for 20W USB-C charger
CTOnews.com March 21 news, Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi released a report today that the latest survey shows that Apple is optimistic about the strong replacement demand of 20W USB-C chargers after switching from iPhone 15 series to USB-C, so it significantly increases the total shipment estimate of 20W USB-C chargers for 2Q23 (second quarter 2023) and 3Q23 (third quarter 2023) by about 120%. And set the shipment of 20W USB-C chargers in 4Q23 (the fourth quarter of 2023) about 70 million pieces.
Mr Guo pointed out that Apple's shipments of 20W USB-C chargers in 2023 were expected to grow significantly by 30-40 per cent year-on-year to 2.3-240 million, thanks to strong demand for replacement.
CTOnews.com learned from the report that Guo Mingyi believes that Apple will optimize the fast charging performance of MFi-certified chargers for iPhone 15, and among Apple's chargers, the 20W USB-C charger is the most economical option for iPhone users, so there is a strong demand for 20W USB-C chargers.
In addition, Guo Mingyi said another possible reason for the strong replacement demand is that future iPhone 15 users may not buy only one Apple 20W USB-C charger to meet their multi-location charging needs.
