CTOnews.com March 22 news, Simon Aaarons and David Buchanan engineers recently found a security vulnerability aCropalypse in Pixel native image editing tool Markup through reverse engineering, which can restore the original image information after coding and pruning operations.

The above image shows the screenshot information after the restoration, and there is a rendering error at the top. Buchanan indicates in the latest tweet that the original "Snip & Sketch" screenshots of Microsoft Win11 and Win10 systems also have aCropalypse vulnerabilities. By changing the image format from RGB to RGBA, you can also restore the original image information after the pruning operation.

CTOnews.com from the foreign technology media bleepingcomputer test, found that after the pruning operation on the picture, the size of the edited picture has not changed, and can partially recover the picture information.

The picture on the left is the original picture, and the picture on the right is the picture after pruning.

The two pictures are exactly the same size.
