Microsoft Teams will support the creation of offline meeting schedules
CTOnews.com, March 23-Microsoft is developing a new feature for Teams users on Windows and Mac that allows them to create offline meeting schedules from their applications. Users will be able to set calendar events for personal appointments, lunch breaks, and so on.
Microsoft does not elaborate on how this feature works, but it may be very similar to the way you set up offline calendar events in Outlook. Currently, users cannot create offline meetings directly from the Teams calendar. Whenever a meeting is created in Teams, it generates a meeting link. That will change in the coming months.
As Microsoft says, Teams users must turn off the "online switch" when creating an offline meeting schedule within the app. When you do so, Teams does not automatically generate online meeting links. These offline Teams meetings will have no chat threads or other Teams online meeting projects.
According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap page, the software giant plans to launch an offline meeting schedule feature for Teams in May. CTOnews.com previously reported that Microsoft also promised to bring another new feature to Teams in May: the default setting for Web supports 3x3 grid view.
