CTOnews.com, March 23, according to the official account of "Southwest Railway", the Ankang-Chongqing section of the Xi'an-Chongqing high-speed railway (referred to as the "Xiyu high-speed railway Kangyu section") ushered in new progress today, with the construction of the longest tunnel on the line officially entering the tunnel and the construction of the whole line into the fast lane.

The Kangyu section of Xiyu high-speed railway starts from Ankang West Station, through Ankang City of Shaanxi Province, Chengkou County of Chongqing City, Dazhou City and Guangan City of Sichuan Province, Hechuan District and Beibei District of Chongqing Municipality, and introduces Chongqing West Railway Station of Chongqing Railway Hub. The total length of the main line is 478 kilometers and the design speed is 350 kilometers per hour.

CTOnews.com learned from the Chengdu Bureau Group of China Railway that the Tiefengshan tunnel under construction is located in Kaizhou District, Yunyang County, Wanzhou District, Chongqing City, with a total length of 14781 meters and a maximum buried depth of 870m.

The Xiyu high-speed railway is an important part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network, the Beijing-Kunming corridor from Beijing to Kunming and the Baotou and Yinchuan-Haikou passageway, according to the railway department.

According to reports, when the project is completed, it will be connected with the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway, Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway, Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, Xi'an-Yan'an high-speed railway, Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway and other lines already in operation, so as to further improve the road network structure in the central and western regions.
