Levi Levi's will use AI models to display clothes
CTOnews.com, March 25 (Xinhua) with the popularity of AI artificial intelligence technology, American jeans brand Levi Levi's has announced that it will use AI models for clothing display.
Levi sees the move as part of a "digital transformation journey" that is diversified, fair, inclusive and sustainable and is working with Lalaland.ai, an Amsterdam-based digital modeling studio.
Levi said the partnership is about "increasing the number and diversity of product models in a sustainable way." The company continued, "We see fashion and technology as an art and science, and we are pleased to work with Lalaland.ai, a company with such high-quality technology that can help us continue our journey to achieve a more diverse and inclusive customer experience."
As to whether it will completely replace human models, Levi claims that "AI may never completely replace our human models" (CTOnews.com friends pay attention to the qualifier "maybe").
According to previous industry news, Levi began a 12-to 19-month layoff process last year, laying off about 800 people-almost 20% of his company's total workforce. The layoffs are part of a restructuring plan that could save about $75 million to $100m a year.
