Survey: 28% of American smartphone users buy foldable phones when they change their phones

CTOnews.com, April 4 (Xinhua) according to the latest report released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, 28% of smartphone users will choose to buy foldable smartphones when changing phones.

Twenty-eight percent of current US smartphone users say they will choose to buy a foldable phone when changing the phone.

Samsung is the most popular brand for American consumers, accounting for 46%. Apple didn't launch a foldable phone, but 39% of respondents said they were willing to wait. Motorola accounts for 6%.

Samsung has the highest stickiness in terms of folding screen preferences, with 92% of Samsung users planning to stick to the same brand when buying folding screen smartphones.

Forty-nine percent of the respondents said they preferred flip folding screens, followed by book folding screens.

More than half of the male respondents preferred flip folding, while female respondents preferred flip folding slightly, at 47%.

Female respondents (40%) preferred book folding screens to male respondents (30%).

Respondents from higher income groups were more likely to buy foldable phones. Respondents with a monthly income of $10000 or more were the most likely (41 per cent) to buy a foldable phone.
