CTOnews.com, April 7, Microsoft recently added a new project to the Microsoft roadmap, involving the printing tool Universal Print (Universal Printing). This new feature will bring full integration with macOS to the product, providing a seamless printing experience from any application on the platform.

Universal Print was first announced in the spring of 2020 and launched a year later in the spring of 2021 as a new service aimed at educational and corporate customers. In fact, this is Microsoft's own printer management style, enterprises do not need to be equipped with dedicated print servers, nor do they need printer drivers.

Over the past few years, Microsoft has been developing and adding further integration with Universal Print. Microsoft Excel web version will be compatible at the end of 2021 and will be further upgraded for enterprises, such as the ability to grant delegated administrator support for localized management. Information available on the printer job page was also added at the end of 2022.

CTOnews.com learned from the Microsoft 365Roadmap that this Universal Print update is listed as under development and is currently scheduled to be available in a preview version in June 2023, with a full public release starting in September 2023.
