Canalys reports that global PC shipments fell 33% in the first quarter of 2023, the fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit declines
CTOnews.com, April 11, according to the latest report released by market research firm Canalys, global PC shipments in the first quarter of 2023 were 54 million units, down 33% from the same period last year, and there has been a double-digit decline for four consecutive quarters.
According to the product category, CTOnews.com organizes the information as follows:
Shipments of laptops were 41.8 million, down 34% from the same period last year.
Shipments of desktop computers were 12.1 million units, down 28% from a year earlier.
Canalys expects the first quarter of 2023 to be the biggest decline in global PC market shipments this year, and the recovery will begin in the second half of this year and continue into 2024.
The report statistics show the following information:
Lenovo topped the list with 12.73 million units, down 30.3% from a year earlier.
Hewlett-Packard ranked second with 12 million units, down 24.1% from a year earlier.
Dell ranked third with 9.48 million units, down 31% from a year earlier.
Apple ranked fourth with 4.05 million units, down 45.5% from a year earlier.
Asustek ranked fifth with 3.92 million units, down 29.3% from the same period last year.
