CTOnews.com, April 18 (Xinhua) according to the latest report released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, global PC shipments fell 28% year-on-year to 56.7 million in the first quarter of 2023. This is also the year with the lowest shipments in the first quarter of the past decade.

According to the report, PC is still in a state of inventory clearance, but this state will improve significantly in the second quarter of 2023. PC market demand will gradually recover in the second half of 2023, and shipments for the whole of 2023 are expected to fall by double digits.

Lenovo remained the world's largest PC supplier by brand segment in the first quarter of 2023, with 12.8 million units shipped, with a market share of 23%.

Hewlett-Packard remained in second place with a 21% market share, while Dell ranked third with a 17% global market share due to the better-than-expected performance of the u.s. market. Apple shipped 4.4 million units, which was greatly affected, with shipments down 38 per cent from a year earlier.
