CTOnews.com, April 18 (Xinhua)-- Nikkei Asia Review reported last week that Apple is in talks with three suppliers to set up factories in Thailand and Vietnam to produce MacBook notebooks.

Source: Quanta according to the latest report, one of the suppliers surfaced, that is Quanta (Quanta). United Daily News reported that Quanta's current plant in Thailand has been improving its yield in recent years, which can basically meet Apple's stringent requirements.

It is reported that Quanta's board of directors has passed a resolution to invest a total of US $50 million (CTOnews.com Note: about 344 million yuan) to set up a subsidiary in Vietnam to open a factory in Vietnam to produce MacBook notebooks for Apple.

CTOnews.com previously reported that a senior management of a supplier said:

Ideally, Apple would ask us to build a factory for MacBook in Vietnam to follow in the footsteps of other Apple suppliers, but we have come up with an alternative, that is, to produce the product in our Thai factory, where there is plenty of room for customers.

As the assembly of MacBook will begin in Vietnam, we can also supply parts from our Thai factory, which only takes two to three days of logistics and customs clearance.
