The report says LTPO TFT phone panels cost $10 more than LTPS.
CTOnews.com, April 20, according to the latest report released today by screen supply chain consultancy DSCC, the cost of low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) is $8 higher than that of low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 55 yuan), and panel cost is $10 higher (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 69 yuan).
CTOnews.com note: LTPS uses laser heating to form polysilicon, while LTPO increases the oxidation process, so it is more expensive. For consumers, the biggest advantage of LTPO is that it supports dynamic refresh rate, which can be adjusted in the range of 1-120Hz according to the usage scenario.
In terms of specific models, Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S23 Plus use LTPS TFT; while models such as Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max use LTPO TFT panels.
