CTOnews.com April 22, Microsoft this week released a preview update of Win11 Build 23440 for Dev Channel's Windows Insider project members. Due to the discovery of BUG, Microsoft withdrew the feature of hovering the taskbar to open the search window in the preview.

Microsoft added a known issue to the Win11 Build 23440 preview update log:

After updating to the Build 23403 preview update, some users may not be able to see the search box on the taskbar or set the search box experience on the taskbar.

We are aware of this problem and are working hard to solve it.

Instead of clicking on the search box on the taskbar or using keyboard shortcuts to trigger Windows Search, users will automatically call out the search window by hovering over the search box on the taskbar.
