CTOnews.com April 22 news, Acer has now promised to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and simultaneously issued a net zero strategy, launching three major areas and nine policies.

Acer announced that it will sign a long-term renewable energy purchase agreement with energy suppliers this year, achieving the phased target of 60% renewable energy use by 2025, further achieving its commitment to use 100% renewable energy in 2035 and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

According to the data, Acer introduced the carbon footprint tool in 2022, completed carbon footprint reports for all business and ChromeOS PC products, and issued a new standby (Modern Standby) power management mode, which reduced laptop energy consumption by 39 per cent compared with 2016 and desktop computers by 35 per cent compared with 2016. At the same time, Acer launched its environmental protection series Acer future product line, starting from raw materials, continue to improve the use of recyclable materials such as post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR) and marine waste recycled plastics (OBP), and extend to other product lines.

CTOnews.com reported earlier that Acer has just held a press conference to launch the Aspire Vero 15 eco-friendly notebook, which uses recycled materials.
