Volkswagen Group delivered 141000 pure electric vehicles in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 42% over the same period last year.

April 24, according to foreign media reports, Volkswagen Group reported that in the first quarter of 2023, the company delivered 141000 pure electric vehicles, an increase of 42% over the same period last year, accounting for 6.9% of the company's total delivery, compared with 5.2% in the same period last year.

Regionally, the company delivered about 70 per cent of all electric vehicles, or 98300 vehicles, in Europe, up 68.1 per cent from a year earlier. China is the company's second-largest pure electric vehicle market, with delivery of 21500 vehicles, down 25.4 per cent from a year earlier. In the US, the company delivered 15700 pure electric vehicles, almost double the number in the same period last year.

In terms of brands, the Volkswagen passenger car brand delivered 70,000 pure electric vehicles worldwide in the first quarter of 2023, accounting for about half of Volkswagen Group's total delivery of pure electric vehicles. Audi ranked second with 34600 deliveries. Skoda (12400), Seattle / CUPRA (9200), Porsche (9200) and Volkswagen commercial vehicles (5500) were closely followed.

In terms of best-selling models, Volkswagen Group's top three best-selling pure electric vehicles in the first quarter of this year were the ID.4 / ID.5, ID.3 and Audi Q4 e-tron (including Sportback).
