According to CTOnews.com on April 26, NetEase announced the establishment of a new overseas studio, AnchorPoint, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain and Seattle, USA, led by Paul Ehreth, chief designer of Control. According to reports, the studio will focus on developing action adventure games for PC and consoles.

NetEase said that AnchorPoint Studios, founded by industry veterans, currently has 100 job openings and is currently recruiting developers, technical artists and designers, including shift, telecommuting or mixed work.

The studio's motto is "Per aspera, ad astra" (going to the starry sky after hardships), expressing the team's desire to focus on creating an action adventure experience that takes risks and goes deep into unknown territory.

CTOnews.com query found that Paul Ehreth is a senior game director and designer with more than 20 years of experience in PC and console game development.

NetEase said he was a campaign designer for Halo 4 and Halo 5, and joined AnchorPoint Studios with Pere Torrents, the former operations leader of Crossing Fire developer Smilegate in Barcelona, Spain. In addition, other developers of the studio include Halo, Ghost of the Falklands, Wild Dart 2, and blockade.
