CTOnews.com, April 27 (Xinhua)-- the American Association for the Science of Mathematical Awareness (AMCS) recently released an open letter calling on large technology companies and related organizations to accelerate research in the field of consciousness science (Consciousness Science).

The open letter points out that with the rapid development of ChatGPT, Bard, Bing Chat and other generative AI, artificial intelligence is about to develop self-awareness, and calls on these companies and institutions to formulate corresponding restrictions as soon as possible.

AMCS believes that AI will soon reach a "higher level of brain structure and function", raising moral, legal and political concerns. AMCS hopes to develop measures to achieve universal artificial intelligence (AGI).
