Excluding 7% of Bing results, Brave search engine is 100% independent.
CTOnews.com, April 29 (Xinhua)-- privacy protection company Brave launched its own search engine in 2021. By calling Bing Search API, 7% of search results come from Microsoft Bing.
In a press release today, Brave announced that it had eliminated 7% of the search results calls and achieved 100% stand-alone operation.
Brave said that on the one hand, the adjustment is aimed at not using information from third parties at all, while on the other hand, the cooperation between Microsoft and OpenAI and the use of ChatGPT technology in Bing Chat have led to users' concerns about the future of Bing Search API.
Brave announced that it will open Brave Search API to developers and companies in the future, and will release details of the business model later.
