Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! According to CTOnews.com on May 1, South Korean memory chipmaker SK Hynix denied reports that it planned to sell its new fab in Dalian, saying that "construction will be completed as planned."

Earlier this month, South Korean media The Elec reported that SK Hynix would postpone construction and consider selling its Dalian 3D NAND flash memory plant. The company bought the plant from Intel in December 2021 for $9 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 62.37 billion yuan).

In response to an inquiry from the South China Morning Post on Thursday, SK Hynix said: "the construction of the SK Hynix plant in Dalian will be completed as planned, and rumors about the sale of the facility have not been confirmed."

According to a recent financial report released by SK Hynix, the company's revenue in the first quarter of this year was 5.088 trillion won (currently about 26.305 billion yuan), far less than the 12.156 trillion won in the same period last year, down 58% from the same period last year, and down 34% from the previous quarter of 7.67 trillion won.
