CTOnews.com May 6, according to McAfee released the latest report, artificial intelligence (AI)-based voice fraud is increasingly rampant, in the group received fraud calls, 77% of people will lead to financial losses.

The report mentions two real cases, one of which simulates the victim's relatives through AI, indicating that they urgently need money for something; the other simulates her daughter through AI, extorting ransom from her mother, but in fact her daughter has not been kidnapped.

Because AI voice cloning tools are cheap and available, malicious parties can quickly and easily create voice clones. The way they get sample audio is from people sharing their voices on social media. The more you share your voice online, the easier it will be for a threat to find and clone it.
