According to the financial report, St had revenue of $4.25 billion in the first quarter of this year, up 19.8% from the same period last year; gross profit margin was 49.7%, operating profit margin was 28.3%, and net profit was $1.04 billion. After deducting $1.09 billion in net capital expenditure, free cash flow was $206 million in the first quarter.

St said real revenue in the first quarter was 170 basis points higher than the median business outlook, thanks to a favourable product mix and price environment. In addition, STMicroelectronics expects median net revenue in the second quarter to reach $4.28 billion, up about 11.5% from a year earlier, up about 0.8% from a month earlier, and is expected to have a gross profit margin of 49.0%. It will strive to achieve its annual revenue target of $17 billion to $17.8 billion in 2023.

Automotive products and discrete components products Division (ADG):

Growth in sales of automotive products and power discrete devices

Operating profit increased by 145.3% year-on-year, totaling $577.4 million. Operating profit margin is 32.0%, compared with 18.7% in the same period last year.

Analog Devices, MEMS and Sensor products (AMS):

Growth in sales of video products; decline in analog and MEMS products

Operating profit was $217.9 million, down 11.6% from a year earlier. Operating profit margin is 20.4%, compared with 22.9% in the same period last year.

Microcontroller and Digital IC products Division (MDG):

Revenue growth of microcontrollers and RF communication products

Operating profit rose 21.7%, totaling $494.7 million. Operating profit margin is 36.2%, compared with 33.7% in the same period last year.
