TSMC's largest customer contributed more than US $17 billion in revenue in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 30%.
On May 8, according to foreign media reports, TSMC disclosed in its latest annual report that the largest customer (which should be Apple) contributed 23% of their revenue last year, which decreased, but brought a significant increase in revenue compared with the same period last year.
According to TSMC's annual report, only one customer accounted for more than 10 per cent of its revenue last year, contributing T $529.649 billion, equivalent to about US $17.266 billion, or RMB 119.701 billion.
According to the information disclosed in the annual report, TSMC's largest customer contributed NT $405.403 billion in revenue in 2021 and NT $529.649 billion in 2022, an increase of 124.246 billion and 30 per cent year-on-year.
However, TSMC's revenue last year increased sharply from NT $1.587415 trillion to NT $2.263891 trillion, up 42% from the same period last year, which means that the proportion of the largest customers in revenue will decrease compared with the same period last year. The annual report also shows that it has dropped to 23% from 26% the previous year.
Although TSMC did not mention the name of its largest customer in its annual report, Apple, which accounts for most of TSMC's advanced process capacity, has been considered its largest customer for many years in a row, and last year is expected to be no exception.
