Although the average price decline widened from the previous month, lithium prices showed signs of rebounding in mid-late April. In addition, lithium hexafluorophosphate, the raw material of electrolyte, has also begun to rise recently, and the prices of negative electrode materials, iron phosphate, lithium copper foil and other materials have also reached a bottom, and the price of the power battery industry chain has gradually stabilized.
As the price of lithium salt continued to fall for five months before it stabilized in April, the prices of all kinds of lithium-ion battery products fell back to the level before the outbreak of market demand for lithium-ion batteries at the end of 2021. Looking at the product price (all in RMB), the average price of square ternary battery, iron lithium cell and soft package ternary power cell fell to 0.83 yuan / Wh, 0.74 yuan / Wh and 0.87 yuan / Wh respectively in April. In terms of energy storage batteries, lithium iron phosphate energy storage cells fell 10.5% in April, or about 0.74 yuan / Wh, while the price of lithium iron phosphate materials has recently begun to rise, while enterprise orders have also begun to pick up; in terms of consumer battery batteries, the average price of lithium cobalt batteries in April was 8.54 yuan / Ah, down 9.3% per month, and the lithium cobalt market has warmed up recently.
TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that at present, the destocking of Chinese power battery manufacturers is coming to an end, and the relationship between supply and demand has gradually become normal after more than a quarter of market-oriented adjustment. It is observed that at present, the price of battery materials is gradually stabilizing, and the market demand is growing steadily. China's power battery industry chain is showing signs of gradually warming up. With the recovery of downstream demand, it is expected to usher in a full recovery in June.
