Sky360 project: create an AI system to monitor UFO around the clock

CTOnews.com, May 10, a development team recently launched the open source citizen science project Sky360, which hopes to build a low-cost monitoring network covering the world to detect UFO events by observing the sky around the clock.

The Sky360 project plans to create a network of autonomous monitoring units to collect real-time data from our skies. The project uses a wide-angle fisheye lens AllSkyCam and a translation-tilt-focus (pan-tilt-focus) camera that can record the motion of all celestial bodies.

Sky360 is made up of 30 volunteer developers, and developer Nicola Garriott (Nikola Galiot) has developed a complete set of AI vision algorithms for the Sky360 project that can automatically classify objects in the sky.

The project has set up 20 sites in the United States, Canada and other regions, and is expected to cover the whole world and achieve global monitoring in the future.
