Meta Announces Test Generation AI Advertising tool
On Thursday, May 12, Meta, the parent company of social media Facebook, announced the start of testing advertising tools based on generative artificial intelligence.
It is reported that these new advertising tools can create content such as image backgrounds and deformed text. Meta executives said at a news conference in New York. The company plans to invite some advertisers to test the tools in a "test environment" for so-called artificial intelligence sandboxie (AI Sandbox).
Meta executives declined to say how many advertisers had access to the test environment at first, saying only that the group was small.
Meta plans to provide more advertisers access to artificial intelligence advertising tools in July and integrate some of these features into regular advertising products later this year, they said.
The announcement marks Meta's first attempt to launch a product that uses generative artificial intelligence technology. Generative artificial intelligence technology can generate new content such as prose, art and software code by mining a large amount of data. Since Microsoft-backed startup OpenAI launched the chat robot ChatGPT last fall, the technology has attracted interest and sparked a wave of investment.
Meta's announcement came a day after Google, its biggest competitor in digital advertising and owned by Alphabet, said it would start integrating artificial intelligence technology into its search, email and photo products.
