CTOnews.com, May 13, Amazon updated the user announcement in response to the requirements of the Consumer Act on the Integrity, Notification and Fairness of the online Retail Market ("INFORM Act"), which will come into effect on June 27, 2023. Amazon said it would verify seller information on US sites as required by the Act. Amazon is committed to protecting sellers' data security.

According to the INFORM Act, third-party sellers who sell in Amazon's American Mall and meet the corresponding requirements of the Act are required to provide detailed relevant corporate information, and Amazon is obliged to collect, verify and disclose relevant information. To this end, Amazon has updated its service business solutions agreement to comply with the new law.

According to the new rules, Amazon will conduct an annual information review of qualified sellers to confirm the accuracy of sellers' corporate information. The seller needs to make corrections according to the content of Amazon email within the specified time, and sellers who fail to complete account verification within the required time can be sealed at the highest level.

According to CTOnews.com 's review of the INFORM Act, sellers selling on Amazon sites in the United States have accumulated sales of 200 or more discontinuous transactions in the past 12 months and the total amount has reached $5000 or more (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 34800 yuan) or more Amazon needs to collect and verify information including its name, identity document, company address, bank account information, valid email address, valid phone number and tax identification number. When necessary, buyers have the right to require Amazon to disclose seller information in order to better combat the proliferation of Internet counterfeits.

The bill covers all e-commerce platforms that do business in the United States, which means that third-party sellers on eBay, Aliexpress, Wal-Mart, Bestbuy and other platforms will face annual information reviews.
