CTOnews.com, May 14, the latest data from the State Administration of Taxation show that in the first quarter of this year, a total of 1.257 million new energy vehicles were exempted from vehicle purchase tax, an increase of 17.5 percent over the same period last year, and 21.24 billion yuan was exempted from new energy vehicle purchase tax, an increase of 36 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from official data that 100000 to 200000 yuan (inclusive) models accounted for 48.5 percent of the new energy vehicles enjoying the exemption policy, an increase of 14.2 percent over the same period last year, and 200000 to 500000 yuan (inclusive) vehicles accounted for 31.3 percent, an increase of 6.1 percent over the same period last year.

In terms of buyers, the number of new energy vehicles purchased by residents increased by 15.5% compared with the same period last year, accounting for 82.7% of all new energy vehicle sales, while the number of new energy vehicles purchased by enterprises increased by 28.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 17.3%. Among them, car rental, taxi passenger transport and public passenger transport and other industries purchase the top number of new energy vehicles.
