CTOnews.com, May 15 (Xinhua)-- Electric carmaker Polar, which is controlled by Volvo and Geely, recently released its results for the first quarter of 2023, refreshing deliveries to 12076 vehicles, an annual increase of 26%. However, due to the adverse impact of the global macroeconomic environment on the automobile industry, it was announced that the annual delivery target set at the beginning of the year would be reduced from 80,000 to 60,000 to 70,000.

The main reason for the downward adjustment of Polar Star's delivery target is the delay in delivery of Polar 3. CTOnews.com has previously reported that Volvo, a major shareholder and partner of Polar Star, needs more time to develop and test the new electric vehicle platform for EX90, so the delivery of the next new car sharing the platform, the Polar 3, had to be postponed to the first half of 2024. Polar Star also pointed out that the mass production plan of Polar 4 is unaffected and is expected to go on sale in China in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Star 3 was officially launched in the Chinese market at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. The long-lasting version of the dual-motor version costs 698000 yuan, and the high-performance version of the dual-motor version costs 798000 yuan. It was originally planned to start the first batch of deliveries in the fourth quarter of this year.
