Microsoft Defender greatly improves offline virus detection from 60.3% to 83.1%

CTOnews.com May 16 news, AV-TEST released last week in the software killing report, pointed out that Microsoft Defender has a high load, so the performance is the worst of all software killers.

AV-Comparatives, another software-killing testing company, recently released a test report highlighting Defender's excellent performance in detecting malware, making it one of the top companies such as Kaspersky, Bitdefender and Total Defense.

After AV-Comparatives tested it with 10015 malicious samples, the results showed that Microsoft Defender performed quite well in the online detection and protection category. The offline detection rate is 83.1%, which lags behind other competitors, but surpasses trend Technology, Panda and so on.

More importantly, Microsoft's offline detection rate for Defender has improved significantly over the past year, from 60.3% last year to 69.8% six months ago.
