CTOnews.com, May 16 (Xinhua)-- the prequel to Game of Thrones, the Family of Dragons, launched on HBO Max last August. Today, Tencent Video announced that the first season of the series will be released on May 22, and the domestic film is called "Game of Thrones prequel Dragons."

The series, adapted from George R R Martin's "Fire and Blood", is set 200 years before Game of Thrones and tells the story of the Targaryen family. In August last year, the first episode of the show was released on HBO Max, making it the most watched premiere in its history.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, the show's second season is now under way, with a cast of Matt Smith, Olivia Cook, Emma Darcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabian Frankel, Ivan Mitchell, Tom Green Carney, Sonia Mizuno and Reese Evans.
