CTOnews.com May 17 news, Apple last week commissioned "Deep Dive LLC" shell company, in new Zealand applied for a trademark called "xrOS." "xrOS" is short for "extended reality," which stands for headsets that will support augmented reality and virtual reality capabilities.

Marcus Schappi dug deeper and found that the company applied for the "Deep Screen" trademark in more than 20 countries and regions in the United States and around the world between 2017 and 2018.

It's unclear whether Apple will apply Deep Screen to headsets. CTOnews.com quoted MacRumors media reports that the US Trademark and Patent Office marked the trademark as "abandoned" in July 2022 because the shell company failed to explain how to use the trademark within a limited time.

The media believes that "Deep Screen" may be the brand of Apple's internal display, referring to immersive virtual reality and augmented reality experience. It is unclear whether Apple will use the trademark.
