CTOnews.com May 18 news, Amazon today officially launched the third generation of Echo Buds Bluetooth headset, the new Echo Buds completely abandoned the active noise reduction function, using a semi-open design, similar to the ordinary AirPods.

The previous generation of $139.99 Echo Buds is now called "active noise reduction Echo Buds" to distinguish between the two, while the regular Echo Buds costs only $139.99 (currently about 350RMB).

The previous generation of Echo Buds adopts the ear-in design, and the silicone earplugs are firmly attached to ensure its active noise reduction effect. The new Echo Buds completely abandons the silicone head and uses a half-in-the-ear design, which has the advantage of being more comfortable while hearing ambient sound naturally. Like the AirPods, the new generation of Echo Buds has no ANC and uses a suspension design outside the ear.

The new Echo Buds is equipped with a 12mm driver unit, which can get up to 6 hours of music playing time (5 hours when the wake-up function is turned on) with the advanced function turned off, and a total of 20 hours when used with the charging box. Fast charging takes up to 2 hours, wireless charging is not supported (the previous generation of Echo Buds provides wireless charging, which costs an extra $20), and Amazon does not even provide the USB-C cable needed to charge.

The new Echo Buds is now available for booking on Amazon and will be delivered on launch date on June 7.
