Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Xiao Zhan for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, May 18 (Xinhua) recently, it is reported that Volkswagen and Huawei have held talks on "using Huawei software in Chinese cars." In addition to Huawei, Volkswagen also held similar talks with other Chinese teams, the source said.

Today, Volkswagen China responded that there was no discussion about operating system licensing between Volkswagen Group (China) and other companies, Zhongxin Jingwei reported. In addition, Volkswagen China also said that in order to provide customers with the greatest possible convenience, Volkswagen Group's existing software is being further developed.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Volkswagen had held talks with Huawei about using Huawei software in its Chinese cars. Volkswagen has held talks with Huawei about the use of the latter technology in Volkswagen, while another person familiar with the matter said Volkswagen had held similar talks with other Chinese groups, according to three people familiar with the matter.

Volkswagen created its own software division, Cariad, in 2020, but has been plagued by problems since its inception, including budget overruns and delays that have blocked the launch of new electric vehicles such as Audi's Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan. To that end, Volkswagen CEO Oliver Bloom replaced almost all Cariad executives earlier this month.

As of CTOnews.com 's release, Huawei has not responded yet.
