The ADC can selectively deliver a variety of anticancer drugs to target cells, thereby improving efficacy and reducing attacks on normal cells.

Sony and Astrid said that they began exploratory research on ADC connection technology in July last year, with the aim of developing a new generation of ADC cancer targeting drug technology platform. Under the agreement, the two companies will develop and optimize the new ADC platform based on KIRAVIA Backbone materials provided by Sony. Sony pointed out that its KIRAVIA polymer material as an ADC connector has the best design flexibility, while providing high capacity and high solubility, greatly improving the drug-antibody ratio and making the treatment more effective.

According to CTOnews.com data, Sony KIRAVIA Backbone material was created using organic polymer materials cultivated in KIRAVIA Dyes developed by Sony and authorized to reagent developers. Its three-dimensional structure is programmed and polymerized by automatic synthesizer, which not only increases the amount of drugs, but also has a high degree of stability, such as loading a variety of drugs, improving water solubility to prevent aggregation, cleavage by reacting with intracellular enzymes, etc. It is a synthetic connector with functional properties and selective drug release.

The collaboration with Sony is in line with its approach to studying "a combination of biology, treatment or technology and diseases with highly unmet medical needs", said Chih Ying Ying, chief scientist at Anstailai. Astrid will be responsible for conducting non-clinical trials of drug candidates developed by the two companies. At the same time, the two sides will continue to discuss the expansion of research partnerships beyond the ADC drug technology platform.
